History

History of MO-AFCC:

The Missouri Chapter of AFCC was founded by a committee of professionals who sought to bring the kind of cutting-edge educational programs for which AFCC is famous to our state. Formed in 2000, the original organizing committee members were Ellen Cowell, MS, Andrea Clark, MSW, the Honorable Winston Davis, Larry Swall, JD, Jane Rippeto, MS, Rosalyn Schultz, Phd, Lisha Masters, JD, the Honorable Norman Stewart, and Ann Bauer, JD. MO-AFCC received its official chapter charter from the AFCC parent organization in November 2003, following AFCC's Fall Regional Conference in St. Louis.

Missouri AFCC has always strived to make its events accessible to members at the grassroots level. The chapter's signature free brown-bag seminars, called Lunch and Learns,  take place in St. Louis and Kansas City on a quarterly basis and less frequently in Columbia and Springfield. In addition, MO-AFCC and MARCH Mediation collaborate to present a spring conference each year featuring a nationally-known speaker in the field of high conflict family court cases. The first spring conference took place in 2004, with Don Saposnek the presenter. Other featured professionals at the spring conference have been Christie Coates, Robin Deutsch, Joan Kelly, Marsha Kline Pruett, Leslie Drozd, Larry Fong, Arnie Shienvold and Mindy Mitnick.
